Swintec 2640

For Sale: Swintec 2640-- a strong, reliable office typewriter, with hundreds of features!  A good replacement for the IBM / Lexmark Wheelwriter!

Let's face it, the WheelWriter was a great machine--strong and sturdy and able to stand up to the active office life.  But it's old now.  The plastic that this machine was manufactured from is oxidized and brittle.  No matter what, no matter how well you treat it, the WheelWriter begins to fall apart.  And then you're left wondering, "What can replace it?"

Swintec is a good option.  They're a little heavier than most of the Smith Coronas, and most of the offer a few more options, like text memory and spell-check.  What's more, they were made for daily usage.

I don't come accross many of them, because when people have them, they don't sell them.  But I did pick up this little number and it is in good, strong shape--ready to take over whatever work you were once assigning to your IBM.
