Description

A lot of the typewriters from this era came in just a few colors—black, gray, green, and brown. So if you want to paint one, you’re kind of stuck if you want the covers to match the keys, because the keys are often (as in this case) greenish. I think the orange went over well.

As far as portable machines go, I think this was one of the better ones. They made them for years, with varying styles of covers, but mostly the same innards. Eventually, they added electricity, which, in my opinion, did little for the machine. In fact, I won’t sell those. All they did was add motor assistance to the mechanical process—they didn’t actually change the process much. Where as a lever or a spring could last indefinitely, a motor, eventually, goes bad.

This particular unit saw a lot of use, but, as you can see, is ready for more.

If ordering outside the Cincinnati area, there'll be an added $30 for shipping.  If you're local, call me and set up an appointment, and I can give you a full demonstration, along with a crash-course on using manual typewriters.
