companion09When I refurbish a typewriter, and decide the color is too boring, I have a particular method of choosing the colors I want to introduce.  Some of it's based on my own preference (generally, I like bright colors).  Some of it is based on current events (like the red, white, and blue colors or the Bengal Tiger paintjob I recently finished).  And some of it is just based on what kinds of paint I have in stock at the time.

But if you're looking for a specific color, you can make that request and get your own, truly personalized, custom-made typewriter.

I can add colors from your favorite sports team, use your company logo colors.  I can even use the colors of a room--or the colors of your car for that matter.  It's entirely up to you.

The only limitation is the typewriter itself.  Only certain models are available... and only some of those are in stock.  Painting a typewriter isn't even half the work that has to go into one of these.  I first have to find a model that can be painted.  Not all of them can.  Then I have to find one that's in geed enough shape to refurbish.  It has to be mechanically sound and able to do work.  And then I have to do the work of refinishing all the mechanical parts.  Only then can it be painted.

The process takes about a month to complete, so if you have an idea for a customized typewriter for a loved one, don't wait until one week before a birthday to ask about it.  Come to me early, and we'll work through which models are available and how long it will take.
