This typewriter is one of few manufactured in the 21st century. While it seems sturdy overall, much of it is sheet-metal and easily bends under any sort of strain. Because it's so light, it works well as a temporary desktop item, without being so small that it's considered portable.
But again--it was manufactured recently, and the manufacturer focused on making it affordable. That means cheap. The typewriter manufacturers of old (the good ones, anyway) made almost everything adjustable. If you had a problem, you made an adjustment--and that's how you fixed things. Not so with these. If it's out of whack, you bend something until it's in whack.
And some things just aren't fixable. For example, notice in the type sample, the letters aren't in perfect line. I've adjusted and bent and fixed as much as possible. And as I look at other machines available for sale, I can see that the problem is specific to this model. And that's why it's available for such a low price--because it's not worth more.
BUT, I've gone over this with a fine-tooth comb, and everything is working and will continue to work for a long time.
Although, if you plan to type out a novel, you might want to get something heavier.
